DANGERS OF SPYWARE
..Who does not feel helpless dealing with the internet? The medium lurks with
dangers and inconveniences ordinary people like you and me cannot understand. People are tolerating all these it seems because the benefits in obtaining information and faster services far outweigh the disadvantages. It doesn't pay to be totally ignorant, however, and so you have been warned.

WHEN IN ROME, MEET THE REST OF THE WORLD AT CHURCH
..Filipinos, Congolese and other immigrants from all over Asia and Africa are filling the Church's pews in
Rome unlike any other time in its history. It's reverse colonialism that the West imposed to the East starting the Middle Ages as third world countries these days lead the way in promoting faith and justice all over the world. They're bringing their values and way of life to the white man's shore.

I'M BACK!
..I took a long break from blogging (forced to actually) when vacationing in Orlando last week with my family. I missed blogging terribly and the heat was totally oppressive! Well I'm glad I'm back and so let the good blogging times roll!
..Learning that TMac probably won't be back with the Orlando Magic this year was sad. Imagine what it would have been like for the Magic if Grant Hill was healthy and could play alongside McGrady. It's something the fans can only dream about. Even if Hill has announced he might be back this year with his ankle injury healing, it looks like a new cast of characters (Steve Francis from the Houston Rockets principally) will be in to greet Hill.

MEN DRIVING THEIR CARS (AND THEIR WOMEN) CRAZY
..To all the women who have suffered the stubborness of their men in refusing to ask for
directions when they are lost driving, this finding should give you comfort. The difference could simply be biological and not at all your boyfriend's particular trait. So lay off the "moron" tag.

JOBS ARE BACK!
..Survey shows a spate of
hirings across industries and spread out geographically all over the U.S. This should pose a big problem to presidential candidate John Kerry's rhetoric which up until now has been focused on the inability of the present administration to generate jobs. Kerry must be hoping that the other card - deteriorating situation in Iraq will not fold too soon that will leave him out of any relevant issue to attack Pres. Bush. Kerry needs an overarching positive strategy and vision to raise his positive poll ratings well above the presidents.

PARIS VS. LETTERMAN
..This should be an explosive
night with Paris Hilton fending off David Letterman's sexual innuendos. All in good humor of course, and one that should showcase what Hilton is really made of after all the attention generated by her online sexual
faux pas.

WORLD'S BIGGEST PROBLEM
..You may be surprised to hear what the gravest
problem the world is facing right now. Far more serious than global warming or WMD, combatting AIDS and hunger rank top on the list of economists. This is a serious development and one that will have far-reaching consequences for the world in the future. Although we have moved forward tremendously in the last decade to come up with breakthroughs in trying to isolate the HIV virus and slow its growth, the problem is the lack of an over-arching strategy that involves all countries especially the first-world who have mostly watched from the sidelines. Poor countries need the commitment of the world community more than ever who are mostly focused on terrorism and free trade. AIDS returns as the silent killer as everyone is caught napping.

TENET SMART
..The CIA Director's
resignation was personally well-timed to deflect accusations of his mishandling of intelligence leading to the Iraq war. It is no question that George Tenet will be the recipient of tremendous blame from the 9-11 Commission when their report comes out in July. The shrewd operative that he is, he preempted whatever decision the President may do to assign blame to his underlings for the failures of the country that allowed the crisis to happen. The White House was caught off-guard and have to do damage control at a time when terror threats exist and intelligence investigations on Chalabi and the outing of Ms. Plame undermine the authority of the CIA.

CATASTROPHY IN THE MAKING
..The humanitarian
crisis in Sudan underscores the inability of the US to marshall its resources to solve problems that are more important to the world than just making war. If Iraq was not invaded, US soldiers together with UN forces will most likely be at the forefront of trying to stop the genocide that is going on in this African country. US forces are spread out thinly around the world and tne government is not about to commit forces when so much is at stake in Iraq because of post-war planning failures by the Pentagon.
