CATHOLIC CHURCH VS. KERRY
..Although there is ambiguity regarding the U.S. Conference of Bishops' stand regarding politicians who disagree with the Church's stand on abortion and euthanasia, the Vatican is unambiguous in their desire to tow the line to official Catholic teaching. This presents a challenge to priests and bishops in the United States who are sensitive to charges that denying politicians communion stand the risk of politicizing the Eucharist and further blurring the line that separates Church and State that is the bedrock of Jeffersonian democracy.
