MORE FEMALE SEX STIMULANTS
..Is the world in need of this?

AMERICA REDEFINED
..Now that the presidential election is over, it is time to face the issue of immigration and ask hard questions. Immigrants too often are made the convenient scapegoat when they take jobs that even ordinary unemployed Americans won't do. It is not simply a zero sum game where every job an immigrant gains is taken away from a native born worker. It is so much more complicated than it appears. Decency and respect for human dignity must prevail in order to solve this problem. Name-calling and Isolationist rhetoric certainly don't help.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE STUDENTS GONE?

THE AGING OF EUROPE
..Europeans are getting older by the thousands and there are not enough young workers catching up fast to support the aging population. You would think immigrants will have a field day in Europe but governments discourage foreigners from staying for political reasons rather than sensible economics. Will they increase the retirement age and force the elderly to work longer? Will the siesta or famous 30-hr. workweek finally disappear? Stay tuned..

THOU SHALL NOT TAX
.. It would be interesting if Republicans can achieve this during Pres. Bush's second term. The tax became complicated because there is something in it for everybody. It will take great political will to make it happen and Dubya might well be the right man to do it and surprise us all. Even, sadly, hard-core Democrats.

YOUR COMPANY, EMAIL AND YOU
..You may not realize it but employers have the legal right to read and certainly monitor your online communications. The spate of recent financial lawsuits produced 70% of damning email messages convicting Frank Quatrone et al. Employees had better taken notice of their company's email policy or regret not to later on. Even instant messages can be monitored and stored on company databases. Over 25% of company firings have been been about email policy violations according to Businessweek Money Talks.

AMERICA HAS SPOKEN
..In the end, Americans chose not to change leadership and direction in a time of terrorism and economic uncertainty. It would be a mistake, however, to interpret this as a wide mandate for the President considering that this is still a closely divided country. President Bush is now presented with a great opportunity to reach out and unite the whole nation. Great and seemingly insurmountable challenges lie ahead in terms of foreign policy, immigration and the ability of the US to lead the world in fighting terrorism. It requires a lot of diplomacy and certainly less unilateral action to bring the world together to take on the problems of the 21st century. We have not even mentioned AIDS, the environment and global population. The religious right's penchant for focusing on the wrong battles over gay marriage and proselytism will not help the president focus on the right stuff. He will have to look beyond his base and religious constituency and reach out to Democrats and immigrants in order to bring about a broad coalition of unity and preserve the ideals of democracy and freedom that America stands for.
