..If you saw Wes Anderson's movie
Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, you would have seen Filipino pirates hijacking the scientist's boat on their way to track a shark for revenge. Presumably, the pirates, though not mentioned by name could be no other than the infamous group
Abu Sayyaf who kidnaps foreigners for ransom. The movie did a poor way of casting the characters playing the kidnappers, most of whom were obviously Filipino-Americans judging from the way they spoke
Tagalog with an American twang. Personally, the movie was a bit of a disappointment because of its uneven plot even as it retains the characteristically off-beat humor the director is famous for in such movies as The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore.
