A CRIME'S TALE
.. The NYPD reported last week that crime in nyc is at the lowest ever in decades. Tell that to the countless iPod users in the city who not only fear losing their cool gadget but their life as well. It's a nightmare for Apple to be in a situation where it now has to weigh customer concerns with marketing the product aggressively. The much sought after white mp3 pods have become a symbol of the great gap between the have and the have nots. Theft of the iPod increased dramatically in subways starting last year and now the MTA is compelled to remind riders to be careful. Students and young people are the most vulnerable to the theft which can sometimes turn ugly and not worth the risk of losing one's life.
