SUPREME INJUSTICE
.. Who says there is no politics in the Supreme Court? Justice Scalia could not have chosen a perfect time to display his displeasure over not being chosen Chief Justice by altogether snubbing the swearing-in of new Chief Justice John Roberts. Will Scalia stick to his strict constructionist past? Will he get back at conservatives and Pres. Bush by roiling the court on closely contested 5-4 decisions? It's a fascinating year ahead for political and judicial pundits alike. The greatest threat to the conservative agenda by way of the courts may well be Scalia himself, the religious right's champion ideologue and not the impending retirement of liberal justice Paul Stevens. DOUBLE WHAMMY
.. In case you didn't notice, the big credit card companies just hiked up minimum charges on your credit card debt under pressure from regulators. If you're just getting your bill and experiencing sticker shock, it's high time to seek professional advice to fix your finances.

BRIDGING THE GAP
.. May be time to go to the GAP now that they are losing out to the discount stores. Expect some more heavy discounting at the stores. They are not going to improve their sales though if the clothes don't improve the quality. For one thing, the materials just suck in roughness! To me this is probably the reason for flagging sales.
