VEEP DEMANDS AND 'SILLY'GISMS
.. No wonder the White House is guilty of-- in the words of David Gergen, governing in denial-- the Veep only watches Fox News! If Pres. Bush is rumored not to watch any network news, and the vice president, his uber adviser, watches ONLY Fox News, then, it follows that, you know... Fox governs America!

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
.. Sen. Hillary Clinton painted the Republican leadership of the House of Representatives "extremists" for passing a bill that would criminalize undocumented immigrants and anyone who assists them as "Jesus would". This is a surefire way for Ms. Clinton to recapture the ultra-liberal wing of the party who has soured on her for her support of the Iraq war. Though national polls show support for a strong border security bill that also disapproves of setting up a mechanism to legalize the status of undocumented immigrants, the broad umbrella of church groups, non-profits, business and a handful of bipartisan members of the legislature will prove to be strong enough to enable a more humane approach of solving the immigration problem. It would do well for Sen. Clinton to be on the side of history and the "real" American values - that of being welcoming to immigrants. That's something Jesus would definitely approve of.

UBIQUITOUS POLITICS
.. Politics, politics everywhere and not enough changes. Ready to see your local congressman running for re-election smiling at you when you open that cereal box? It might have worked during the 2004 elections with hard core Bush partisans but I don't think it bodes well for election strategists that more people right now, as suggested by the polls are increasingly dissatisfied with politics. I would be careful to assume that people clamor for more ways to be reminded of the fact that nothing seems to be going right with American politics right now. Marketing has its limits, as corporate advertisers who bury themselves in permission marketing have realized over the years. With Tivo, DVR and even Internet pop-up blockers, when was the last time you actually saw an ad? I don't think people miss the experience. The backlash on politicians using these tricks could be severe.

BURIED PAST
.. MTA workers discover what looks to be a burial ground for the forgotten Chinese immigrant workers who suffered tremendous racism during the late 1800s. A reversal of fortune considering the Chinese may someday own Union Station, the place that houses the area. The world is indeed becoming flat..
